About us

We are aware that without humanitarian aid it is impossible to aspire to a better world. The new world that we imagine should be built from the bottom up, on the basis of our humanity and committed to protecting and taking care of children. We believe that sport is the perfect tool for this magic to happen. Sport shapes not only athletes, but also people, prepares to face adversities, values efforts and unites people with a same goal.
Above all, it touches the deepest human feelings, expressed equally with the smile of victory and the tears of defeat.
We live times of profound technology changes, in a world with disappearing cultural or social boundaries, a world of global information and experiences, a world where science is making breakthroughs never seen before, able to cure more and more diseases, reduce suffering and prolong life beyond all hopes.
Yet, we live in a world where inequalities are rising, where children and young people are still dying in critical social conditions, sometimes in extreme poverty, exposed to violence, crime, drugs and hardship. We are not rationally able to explain the reasons. However, not knowing doesn’t mean not understanding, and even less not trying to do something about it.
We understand that society has a duty and must bear some responsibility for this, which is why we, founders of the UCUS Institute, with our lives immersed in sport, are committed to contribute to saving lives and make dreams come true.
Creating the Institute was only the beginning. We have embraced this cause and we are ready to take as many initiatives as we can to benefit the poorest communities in Brazil, especially the Favelas, who will need our and your support. We know that many of these kids can’t survive alone and we need help from people who can contribute to the project, and make a real difference in these kids’ and their families’ lives.
Kids living in these conditions don’t have other options than to try to survive, too often unsuccessfully, through violence, crime and drugs which is taking away their innocence, hopes and illusions, in a one way street. We say that there is another way.
Please help us to light up the flame of hope in the eyes of those kids, and give them the opportunity to live and fulfill their dreams.

Camila Paiva Pinzon

UCUS Ambassador

Hi there! I am the UCUS ambassador. This Project is a dream coming true for the founders of the Institute. We would love to share with you our enthusiasm and raise public awareness for our cause “One Child, One Dream”.
The project was born in Alta do Boa Vista (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), a few blocks away from the “Rocinha”, one of the largest Favela in South America, thanks to the efforts of 3 dreamers looking to fulfill their “Mission”.
Our goal is the social integration of children from poor neighborhoods though the practice of sport, as an ideal means of training and teaching principles of life and values.
We seek to restore dignity and bring joy in the faces of the protagonists of our history, who are also the future of humanity: CHILDREN.
